Center for Student Program Awards Nominations
Nominations accepted starting Friday, November 20, 2009
The Center for Student Programs annually recognizes outstanding student leaders, student programs and student groups at Georgetown University at the close of each academic year. Please submit nominations for awards from Fall Semester programming to be included in the final round of nominations in the Spring semester. Descriptions of the awards can be found below and nominations submitted by clicking HERE: NOMINATION FORM.

Please help the Center for Student Programs celebrate excellent programming on campus and nominate by December 9, 2009!

AWARD DESCRIPTIONS

Outstanding Student Organization
The Outstanding Student Organization Award is given to a student organization that has had a positive impact on the university community through offering an array of activities, shown leadership in the community, and offered its members an opportunity to expand their skills. The groups should have expanded its programs from previous years.

Outstanding Student In Student Activities
Awarded to a Georgetown University student who has made outstanding contributions to the campus community by his or her leadership, programming endeavors, individual skills, volunteer activities, service and attitude in support of student activities.

The Martha Swanson Award for Outstanding Senior
Awarded annually to an Outstanding Senior who best exemplifies the values of Jesuit education as he or she spends his or her last year on the Hilltop. The student will have shown leadership on campus in particular. The student will be one the University can point to with pride as someone who shows that he or she is preparing for a life of service in the future.

The Mike Jurist Award for Outstanding Student in a Club Sport
Given annually to a student that exemplifies outstanding leadership, involvement and sportsmanship on a club sport's team.

Outstanding Program Award
Awarded in recognition of one specific event, activity, program or series of programs that made a significant contribution to the ideals of the Georgetown University community.

Loyola Award
Presented to a person, program, or organization that actively exemplifies and upholds the Jesuit ideals and values of Georgetown University, such as "Cura Personalis" and Community in Diversity. This award acknowledges efforts put forth to communicate the Jesuit mission across campus.

ODK Outstanding Leader
Recognizes an individual who during his/her times at Georgetown has exemplified the ideal of Omicron Delta Kappa, the national leadership honor society. The winner will demonstrate exemplary character, responsible leadership and service in campus or community life, superior scholarship, genuine fellowship, and consecration to democratic ideals and will be involved in a major phase of campus life (scholarship, athletics, campus life, performing arts, and/or journalism). Membership in ODK is not required to be the recipient of this award.

GOLD Outstanding Emerging Leader
Is bestowed upon an individual who over the past year has taken an active role in the Georgetown community and has made a difference.

Outstanding Commitment to NSO
Given to the sophomore/junior/senior volunteer who demonstrated commitment and service to the values of the BSO programs, such as inclusiveness, dedication, enthusiasm, and understand of new student needs. Paid NSO staff members are not eligible for this award.

Celebration of Pluralism Award
Given to an outstanding student, organization, or program that demonstrates commitment to the Georgetown University values of pluralism, inclusiveness and diversity. Nominators can interpret the aspects of pluralism broadly, and are encouraged to consider elements of gender, race/ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, class, and social thought as possible criteria for this award.

The Spotlight After Dark Award
This award is given to the most outstanding What's After Dark (WAD) co-sponsored and /or funded program. This award takes the following into account; creativity, attendance, effective use of funding, planning, organization, etc.
