I have had the pleasure of working in the Center for Student Programs since the summer of 2001, and have enjoyed working closely with NSO, Freshman Class Committee, Lecture Fund, GPB, BSA, and GUSA. Currently I advise the Senior Class Committee, Leadership Development programs, student media groups and many other organizations, and serve on several committees including the Diversity Action Council. I’m also an advisor to the Women in Leadership Living Learning Community. I received a Bachelors degree in Anthropology from The College of William and Mary, and a Masters degree in Counseling and Personnel Services from the University of Maryland. While I love to sing the fight song, I get much more enjoyment hearing my 4 year old son sing it! To me, the best part about working at Georgetown is the community of wonderful students and colleagues with whom I work.
Name:
Bill McCoy Contrary to popular belief, I did not go to Georgetown, rather a small liberal arts school called Wagner College, on Staten Island. After graduation I headed right off to Grad School. Having gotten my Masters in Higher Education Administration at NYU, I suppose I am slated to be in college for the rest of my years.
Name:
Heather Maginnis Aside from NSO, I work with the Georgetown Office of Leadership Development (GOLD), and I advise student organizations ranging from MeCHa to the Grilling Society to Mock Trial. I’m originally from North Quincy, MA. I received my B.A. in Classics from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, and I completed my M.Ed in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration from the University of Vermont (UVM). Prior to Georgetown, I worked in college admissions at Providence College in Rhode Island, and in Residence Life at UVM.
Name:
Tanesha S. Stewart I went to undergrad at Spelman College in Atlanta, GA and received my masters from GW. I consider myself a well traveled and well seasoned individual due to my father’s 24 years of service in the United States Navy. Moving around so much taught me how to adapt to my surrounding, engage with various types of people and cultures, and balance all of my different interests. You can always catch me in my office listening to music and singing…feel free to join in to fun because sing-alongs are always supported.
Name:
Kendra Jackson I graduated from Georgetown in 2006 with an IPEC degree, and am a proud Hoya Alumn! I love working with the Club Sports teams and played on Club Volleyball for all 4 years of my undergrad. I was an NSO Coordinator and Chair of Take Back the Night when I was in school and I loved every minute of my involvement in Student Organizations and learned as much from my co-curricular life as my classroom experience. I love everything Blue and Gray and am excited to continue working to make the Georgetown Community stronger.
Name:
Russ Watts Work is my life and life is my work. Sharing the passion for the outdoors has been keeping me busy for the last 17 years. Working with Georgetown students, faculty, staff and folks out in the community gives me such pleasure. Taking them to places like Scotland, Sicily, Tuscany, Ecuador, Fiji and soon, Greece and Egypt and watching the awe and joy of discovery is what I really enjoy.
Name:
Charles M. VanSant I have lived in DC and worked at Georgetown for eleven years. I came north from Duke, after been an undergraduate and graduate student, and professional there for seventeen years. I began at Georgetown in Residence Life, and three years ago I became Director of Off Campus Student Life. I must admit though, my basketball allegiance has been, is, and will be with the Blue Devils. This Fall, I’m back in school, at Georgetown, working towards a Masters in Journalism.
Name:
Ray Danieli I
like working with people and helping people out. I enjoy
watching old movies. I am interested in learning more
about early U.S. History. I am teaching an
Administration of Justice course at Northern Virginia
Community College. Also, I am pursuing a Masters of Arts
in Liberal Studies, majoring in American Studies.
Hometown: Northbrook, IL For the last 10 years or so, I have dedicated my life to debate. In my opinion it is the greatest activity; one that I love and want to share with as many people as possible. My goal as a coach is to win while having as much fun as possible along the way. Name: Konjit Yemane
Name: John-Michael McColl
Hometown: Salt Spring Island, British Columbia I grew up on a small island in Canada with lots of artists and old hippies. I’ve spent the last few years checking out the rest of the world and learning things. I have two younger brothers and a dog named Hunter. I like camping and outer space.
Name: LaDonna S. Sales
Hometown: Memphis, Tennessee I have an insatiable urge to move around, so much so that I move every 5 months or so. My favorite hobby is bumming a place to stay off of friends when I’m traveling. I’m always where the food is and when it’s gone, so am I. I was born in Memphis, went to undergrad in Spokane Washington where I learned to snowboard, ski, and get over my fascination with the snow. I’ve been to all fifty states and have driven across the country more than four times, stopping only for bathroom breaks and gas. I speak enough languages that I sometimes feel like I’m always eavesdropping even when I don’t want to be. I am obsessed with Brazil and in love with Granada Spain. I eventually plan to build a mansion on my family’s property back home and name it either Andalucía, after the region in Spain where I lived, or Berimbau, after the musical instrument used in capoeira. |
